YUCK! Yuck, yuck! I read this article this morning and thought I’d pass it along. It lists the “rattiest neighborhoods” in Houston and by “rattiest” they mean R-A-T-S!
I’ll be honest, I’m not surprised that the “Rattiest neighborhoods” are inner loop Houston. It is a little surpising to see the list include many of the most expensive neighborhoods in Houston. Many of the homes in these areas are older, many with peir and beam foundations (which are perfect for animals to hide under) and they are near urban development. I will say, I’ve lived in Midtown close to 10 years and I haven’t seen a rat. If I had I’m sure the whole neighborhood would have heard me scream like a baby. We’ve had a possium in our garage, which was scary enough but they don’t seem to travel in packs like mice and rats. yuck.
Here is the list of how the neighborhoods:
- Uptown/Galleria: 53 percent
- The Heights: 36 percent
- River Oaks: 28 percent
- Rice: 24 percent
- Montrose: 23 percent
- Midtown: 19 percent
- Meyerland: 14 percent
- Memorial: 14 percent
- Medical Center/Museum District: 10 percent
- Kirby: 7 percent
- Downtown: 6 percent
- Bellaire/Chinatown: 5 percent
