Houston Lights In The Heights

So this is a few weeks late, but Dec 11, 2010 was the annual Lights in The Heights in the Woodland Heights.

A few girlfriends and I went to walk the streets and see the Christmas lights and then a tasty dinner at The Glass Wall, in The Heights.  We had a great time and with the cold weather it felt like Christmas time!

This was my first time going to Lights In The Heights, which seems crazy since The Heights is so close to our house in Midtown.  Really my only complaint was the traffic.  It was HORRIBLE.  Thankfully, we had dinner reservations and after 40 mins of slow-moving in the car, we finally got close to the Glass Wall restaurant and valet the car.  This was the best decision.

A quick walk over to Omar street and we were enjoying the crowded streets and lighted houses.  There were bands on porches and other singers sitting in front of the houses.  It was really nice to see how many people come out to the event and gather with friends.

Here are a couple of photos (from my phone) of a few of the houses we saw.  I thought it was so cute to make the house a reindeer face.  This is something next year, I’ll make sure to gather more friends and my hubby to enjoy the lights.

It's a reindeer! One of the many house with bands.
